Crash leaves Lanier High School without power

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Three Lanier High School students have minor injuries after they were involved in a crash Monday morning on Payton Gin Road and Parkfield Drive. The students’ car wrecked into a utility pole and snapped it in half, causing downed wires and power outages in the area.

The high school was without power for several hours after the wreck that happened around 8:25 a.m. Electricity was restored to the school around noon.

School officials said lunch for would be brought in from somewhere off-campus so that students have lunch.

Emergency crews also closed the eastbound lanes of Payton Gin Road as they investigated the scene.
