Round Rock police, hairstylists provide back-to-school haircuts

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — Round Rock police and dozens of hair stylists are helping students go back to class with a new hairdo as part of their Kutz-4-Kidz program.

Attendees were not only treated to a haircut, they could also play games, tour the police department and get their faces painted.

“We had snow cones, this dunking thing and water balloons.. fun stuff like that,” said Gregory Ortiz, who received a free haircut. “When you throw it, it’s fun when the people go in the water.”

Round Rock police also gave out free food and school supplies. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
