US Marshals hunting Bastrop County rape suspect

BASTROP, Texas (KXAN) – Deputies and a fugitive team from the US Marshals are on the lookout for a Paige, Texas man who they say raped a 16-year-old girl and who may have opened fire on a crane operator.

The Marshals service released a wanted poster Friday for Aaron Ivy who is accused of raping a girl in a Paige home on July 30th.

According to court documents, Ivy is accused of choking the girl and head butting her as she tried to fight back.

Deputies say Ivy is also a person of interest in a July 31 incident where gunman opened fire on a construction crane at Go Green Industries along Highway 290 in Paige. No one was hurt in that incident.

According to Bastrop County Sheriff Terry Pickering, “We believe he is armed, but for the general public I don’t think he is an extreme threat. He’s either getting help from someone or he’s done harm to himself and we just haven’t found him yet.”

When deputies arrived at the scene of the alleged assault, they were told Ivy ran off with his shotgun and the clothes on his back, yelling that he intended to kill himself. Fourteen years ago deputies responded to his home after a report he was suicidal. He fired at deputies, and did time in community service for unlawfully discharging a firearm.

The US Marshals also say Ivy may be armed with a shotgun and should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who knows where he may be is asked to call the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at 512-916-5393. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
