FREDERICKSBURG, Texas (KXAN) — A pilot was taken by helicopter to the hospital after crashing his single-engine plane at the Gillespie County Airport.
The pilot was trying to land about 2:40 p.m. when a strong crosswind blew the plane off course. The plane rolled multiple times on the tarmac before coming to rest upside-down near the runway, Fredericksburg Police Lt. Brian Haley said.
The man was taken to University Hospital in San Antonio in stable condition. His injuries were not life threatening.
