LOS ANGELES (NBC/KNBC) — A giant rubber duck made quite a splash as it sailed into the harbor just south of Los Angeles. The duck’s imposing yellow presence on Wednesday could be seen making its way through the channel to kick off the Tall Ships Festival.

Spectators anxiously waited for the duck’s arrival at the harbor where it will be moored for the next five days. The duck is the latest and largest version of an iconic floating sculpture created by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman. It’s expected to be one of the highlights of this year’s festival.
