LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) – Leander Police say they are looking for speeders and drivers running red lights at intersection where two teens were killed in a violent crash last week.

Traffic enforcement officers are patrolling the intersection of  FM 2243 at Toll 183A as a result of the crash that killed 19-year-old James Hurtado of Bertram, Texas and 17-year-old Marshall Whiteley of Liberty Hill, Texas. A third teen was seriously hurt.

Police determined the teens were speeding and went through a red light when they collided with an 18 wheeler.

The intersection was briefly closed Monday while investigators reconstructed the crash.
