Farmer Starter program with Farmshare Austin

Studio 512 farmshare

Taylor Cook, Executive Director of Farmshare Austin, joined us in the studio Wednesday to share more about the Farmer Starter program. Farmer Starter was created to give aspiring farmers the know-how to run a sustainable farming business. In addition to farming techniques, students will also learn the business skills to create a successful market farm. Students are fully immersed int farm life during a six month season where they will live and work on the farm. An IndieGogo campaign is currently underway if you are interested in supporting their efforts. Farmshare Austin is also involved in providing organically grown, healthy vegetables to those who have limited access. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
