SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (NBC/WNBC) — As far as corny Derek Jeter tributes go, this one will be tough to beat. A farm in Central New Jersey carved an image of the New York Yankees captain and a thank you message to him into its 5-acre corn maze.
“Thanks Captain Clutch” is carved into the maze, along with a baseball with Jeter’s number, 2, on it. Jeter is retiring after 19 seasons with the Yankees. He has been honored at Major League ballparks around the country this year.
Farm owner Cindy Vonthun said the maze will be open from Sept. 20 through Halloween.
