Fall Home and Garden Show attracts large crowd

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Over the weekend, Austinities had a chance to prepare for fall with the help of home and garden experts. The Austin Fall Home and Garden Show drew a large crowd of people to the Austin Convention Center.

Experts offered advice at seminars and on various stages. There were also designated areas for kids and pets. Animal Planet star Pete Nelson made an appearance and discussed how to build treehouses.

“Oh, I love coming to the home and garden shows,” attendee Mary Ojeea said. “Mainly because of the crowds and looking at all ideas people have and just watching the various products they have.”

Attendees also found out how to keep their gardens alive during the current drought and landscape with water conservation in mind.

KXAN proudly co-sponsors the event, and Meteorologist David Yeomans spoke to a group about the drought and its impact on gardens. Click here for more information about his presentation.
