ROBSTOWN, Texas (CNN/KIII) — It was quite the scene in the Robstown area Thursday evening after two 18-wheelers collided. One of those was transporting cotton – sending it flying in all directions. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.

It happened around 5:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 77. The Department of Public Safety says one of the trucks – the one carrying cotton — failed to yield the right of way as it was crossing the highway. That’s when it was hit by another 18-wheeler heading north on that highway.

“Yeah, I did hear the collision. I was about a mile down. That’s how loud it was,” said Isaac DeLeon, with the Robstown Police Department. “We also had vehicle moving to the side of the road. I didn’t realize it was this bad until I got here.”

Fortunately, the drivers of both trucks were not hurt. That roadway has now been cleared of all debris.
