Pools closing in Austin as summer winds down

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Even though temperatures are just starting to heat up, the City of Austin is preparing to shutter summer operations at city pools starting Monday Aug. 18th.

The city considers usage, lifeguard availability and proximity to other pools when determining which pools to close. Only Barton Springs Pool, Deep Eddy Pool, Northwest Pool and Big Stacy Pool will remain open after Aug. 24th.
