HOUSTON (AP) — Houston-area authorities say a woman driving a stolen car has died in a crash near George Bush Intercontinental Airport following a high-speed chase.

Harris County sheriff’s deputies say the chase began Tuesday night at a motel along Interstate 45 because the driver wouldn’t pull over. They say the chase lasted almost 30 minutes on several roads and freeways. There was one passenger in the car.

Houston police say the chase ended when the woman drove through a red light and hit a truck. The woman and the male passenger were both thrown from the car.

They were taken to the hospital, where she later died. It’s unclear what happened to the truck driver.

Authorities haven’t released the names of the woman or passenger.
