Burnet County officials issue warning about warrant scam

The Burnet County Sheriff’s Office wants to alert you about a potential scam.  The sheriff’s office says someone is calling people telling them there is a warrant for their arrest.

Officials say people are being told to pay immediately with a debit card or credit card – right over the phone.

The Burnet County Sheriff says his officers never contact you by phone to tell you about a warrant – much less ask you to pay for something over the phone.

If you have any information about this case, contact the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office at 512-756-8080.
