AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police are investigating what they call a “suspicious” death in East Austin.

Crime scene detectives closed Manor Road from Rogge Lane to Coventry Lane while they investigated.

APD says a 911 call at about 1:30 a.m. drew officers to a home where a woman had obvious injuries, but they would not go into detail.  Paramedics were unable to revive her, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was in her 50s and was found in a housing complex that had several units on one property.  Police found a man who they are calling a “person of interest” leaving the scene, and officers are now questioning him.

Police say they believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no related danger to the public.
