Man gets 15 years for softball assault

Leovardo Cantos

GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) — The man who prosecutors say bragged about a fight during a recreational softball game on Facebook was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday.

Leovardo “Lee”  Cantos was found guilty last month by a Williamson County jury for the Nov. 14 fight following a routine play at first base. Prosecutors say he knocked the victim to the ground and kicked him in the head. The victim required emergency brain surgery.

Witnesses from both teams testified in the trial.

“The Jury’s verdict of Guilty and the Court’s Sentence sends a clear message to this Defendant that his choice to inflict this injury on Mr. Davila was unjustified and senseless,” said Assistant District Attorney Josh Reno. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
