SPICEWOOD, Texas (KXAN) — County commissioners approved $59,000 to cover the costs of damage done to Pace Bend Park after severe weather rolled through in early June.
Officials say a tornado-warned storm that moved through on Jun 12 caused extensive damage to the roofs of fee booths, restrooms and the maintenance office. Several trees were also blown over and had to be removed.
Because of the damage and the threat for further damage if another storm hit, crews began making emergency repairs. Commissioners said the expenses put a strain on the Transportation and Natural Resource department’s budget and the $59,000 was needed to make up for the shortfall.
