Youth Summit aims for world peace over the weekend

Austin global youth summit

Austin (KXAN) – Solving the world’s problems will only happen through mutual understanding and compassionate leadership. Some kids are learning how that works this weekend.

Undocumented immigration, gang violence in Central America, even the crisis in Iraq, these are just some of the major issues children around the world face as they grow up today.

The Austin Global Youth Peace Summit unites over 80 kids aged 14 to 18 years old from over 25 countries for a week dedicated to personal growth, leadership development, healing, cultural exchange and community building.

The summit is in its eighth year and has served over 500 kids.
