Two dead, five injured in Georgetown crash

GEORGETOWN, Texas (KXAN) – A Saturday morning crash between two pickup trucks left two dead and five more injured.

It happened around 9 a.m. on State Highway 195 at Shell Road.

Initial reports from Georgetown police say that a Chevy truck heading southbound on County Road 143 ran a red light. A Ford truck heading eastbound crashed into the Chevy’s passenger side.

Five people were in the Ford. Two were thrown from the truck’s cab. One of those thrown was killed. The passenger in the Chevy was also found dead.

Police later identified the two men as 19-year-old Anibal Rodriguez, of Seattle, and 24-year-old Ricard Gonzales from Dolores Hidalgo in Guanajuato, Mexico.

The survivors were transported to Seton Medical Center Williamson. Four are said to be in stable condition; one is critical.

The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed as of yet.
