Work site accident leaves man critically injured

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A construction worker suffered a traumatic injury when something fell on his chest at a downtown work site Friday.

Medics responded to the 21st floor of the building at 3rd and Colorado Streets about 4:15 p.m. and said a man in his 30s had gone into cardiac arrest.

They continued to perform CPR on the man as he was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge.

No further information about the man or his condition was immediately available.
