Austin police investigate overnight stabbing

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin police have cleared the scene of a stabbing in Southeast Austin.

Cpl. Guy Watkins said police were called to the 1900 block of Valley Hill Circle off Burton Drive around 3:30 a.m. Friday after a man was found stabbed and lying on the sidewalk. While he was rushed to University Medical Center Brackenridge, there is no word on the severity of his injuries.

At this point, police say they have a suspect but would not offer a description and said he was still on the run.  However, Watkins said the public was not in any danger.

Police had Burton Drive between Maraposa and Valley Hill Circle blocked off until 5:45 a.m. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
