Knife-wielding hotel robber sought by police

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man who robbed a hotel employee at knifepoint is being sought by authorities after committing crimes at a pair of North Austin hotels in July.

The man first entered the Holiday Inn, 14620 N. Interstate 35, about 9:45 a.m. on July 10. He then robbed a housekeeper inside a room while pointing a knife at her, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office said.

About an hour later at a nearby hotel, he again pointed a knife at a housekeeper. Austin police said the woman managed to get away unharmed.

The thinly-built black man in his late teens or early 20s standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He had short cornrows and was last seen wearing dark colored pants and a dark hoodie with white draw strings, and black shoes.
