Austin woman dies after being rescued from Comal River

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (KXAN) — An Austin woman who was pulled out of the Comal River over the weekend has died.

According to New Braunfels police, Kathryn Walker, 26, died early Thursday morning at University Hospital in San Antonio.

On Saturday, Walker was injured when she apparently jumped from a private deck into the Comal River, near the last tubers exit, and never came back up.

Police said she was found by another tuber and pulled to the exit where they started giving her CPR.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine Walker’s official cause of death.
