People push Australia train to free trapped man

PERTH, Australia (CNN/SEVEN NETWORK) — Transportation officials in Australia are calling it “people power.”

Dozens of Australians rallied together to push a train off a man who was trapped.

The man was boarding in the western Australia city of Perth on Wednesday morning when he slipped.

His leg became jammed in between the carriage and the station.

That’s when dozens of commuters and railway staff rocked the train carriage together, and the man was lifted out.

Officials say he was checked over by paramedics before he boarded the next train.

His identity is still a mystery, but this incident is now world-famous. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
