Dog lovers all over Austin are always trying to find restaurants where they can spend some quality time with their canine companion and get a good meal. Well look no further than the patios of Kerbey Lane Cafe.
Phil Bachus and Danyiel Wilds from Kerbey Lane dropped by Studio 512 to talk about their locally owned chain of restaurants.
Phil and Danyiel also showed our host Amanda Tatom how to make cinnanon pancakes.
Here is their recipe:
For the Buttermilk Pancake:
1 cup of Kerbey Lane Cafe Buttermilk Pancake Mix
½ cup + 2 T of water
¼ cup of butter
1/3 cup of brown sugar
½ tsp of cinnamon
1 cup of powdered sugar
¼ of hot water
Pinch of cinnamon
Wisk the ingredients for the pancake together until no lumps appear. Let the batter sit for 1-2 minutes to thicken.
Pour ¼ – ½ cup of batter on the griddle set at 400 F. Squeeze a swirl of the Cinnamon Swirl mix on the cake to mimic a cinnamon roll, do this while the batter is still fairly thin. Cook the pancake until small bubbles appear, then flip the cake and cook thoroughly, about 2 minutes total. Serve the pancake swirl side up, and drizzle with the Cinnamon Roll Glaze, finish with a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
