LUDIAN, China (CNN/CCTV) — The death toll from an earthquake that rattled Southwestern China on Sunday is rising.

Chinese state-run media say the number of those killed now stands at 589.

An 88-year old woman was recently found alive after being buried under rubble for more than two days.

Her house collapsed during Sunday’s 6.1-magnitude quake.

Officials say she is in stable condition and receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital.
