AUSTIN (KXAN) – What gets the cows come running home faster than a trombone serenade?

“There is something wonderful about playing a trombone in the middle of a prairie to 380 heifers,” said farmer Derek Klingenberg. “I must say, I had no idea that the video would be such a hit.”

Klingenberg got the idea to film himself playing “Royals” by Lorde on his trombone on Sunday morning in the Flint Hills of Kansas.

“I’ve been going out there the past week to ‘cube’ the cattle,” he said. “We feed them a treat, so it is easier to gather them when we round them up later this week. For fun, I played my trombone to help call the cattle in from long distance.”

This video’s gotten more than 1.1 million views already, and Klingenberg’s been contacted by numerous major networks about the video — including one in Japan.

For those of you who can’t get enough funny cow videos, I’m attaching this one as an added bonus.
