TRAVIS COUNTY (KXAN) — Central Austin nonprofit Manos de Cristo is helping thousands of children get ready for school.

Manos’ annual Back-to-School program runs from Monday through Friday and again on Aug. 11 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. each weekday at the North Austin Events Center.

The program prepares low-income students for the school year by providing each child with two free sets of new clothing, socks, underwear and a new backpack filled with school supplies.
