Beaumont house apparently intentionally set ablaze

BEAUMONT, Texas (AP) — Seven people have escaped from a burning Southeast Texas home in a fire that officials say appears to have been intentionally set.

Beaumont Fire Rescue officials say nobody was hurt in the blaze early Thursday. Investigators had no immediate information on any possible suspects.

Authorities say the fire was started on the exterior of the house and spread to the attic by the time emergency responders arrived.

Officials say the house suffered minor damage.
