Date set for UT football Fan Day

The University of Texas football team will hold a practice open to the public and an autograph signing during its Fan Day Aug. 10.

The Longhorns annual day for fans gets a few tweaks in Charlie Strong’s first season as head coach.

Practice will be at Royal-Memorial Stadium. Gates open at 9 am with the team practicing from 9:30 to noon. Beginning at 1:30 the team will sign autographs across from the stadium at the Erwin Center. Players and coaches will sign until 4 pm but fans will not be let inside after 3:15 pm.

Charlie Strong will be available for pictures that fans can download online. Fans will receive a team poster the day of the event. That is the only item the team will autograph.

The Texas cheerleaders and pom squad members along with Bevo, Smokey the Cannon and the mascot Hook ‘Em will also be at the Erwin Center. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
