CEDAR PARK, Texas (KXAN) — Routine maintenance along the 183A toll road starts Tuesday morning and is likely to impact a lot of drivers who live between Cedar Park to Leander. Especially for someone like Tanya Barnes, who lives within the area that the toll road construction will take place.
“I think it’ll seriously bottleneck. A lot of traffic goes through that area of people don’t use the toll naturally,” she says, “I think it’ll bottleneck and then it’ll congestion other neighborhood side roads and everything else.”
The routine maintenance will remove and replace the top two inches of pavement along the north and southbound frontage lanes of 183A from Lakeline Drive to 22-43. Crews will work Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. While some work will occur at night to minimize disrupting traffic, motorists should be aware of daytime lane closures during the construction period.
For drivers who want to avoid the area, keep in mind the main lanes of 183A will remain open to travelers. Consider traveling to Ronald Reagan Boulevard to avoid the construction crews on the frontage roads. Take northbound Bell Boulevard to Whitestone Boulevard to Baghdad Road, this will help drivers commuting into Leander.
