DaVinci robot use in surgeries grows in past decade

Austin (KXAN)- It may look like something out of a science fiction movie, but the DaVinci robot is an incredibly useful tool many surgeons use for the most tedious of procedures.

A KXAN News Today regular, Dr. Koushik Shaw with the Austin Urology Institute, was one of the first to get trained on how to use the robot.

He explains what makes it so popular that it’s used in over 400,000 surgeries every year.
