Austin No. 2 on Forbes list for job growth

AUSTIN (KXAN) – Tech companies and the job seekers provided by University of Texas graduates each year have propelled Austin to the top of another list. ranks Austin as No. 2 for best cities for job growth with 4.1-petcent projected growth.

Ranking only behind Naples, Fla., Austin is one of four other Texas cities on the list. McAllen sat at third, Dallas at fifth, Houston was ninth and San Antonio rounded out the top ten.

Forbes points out major Tech companies like Dropbox, IBM and Oracle continue to move to Austin and bringing jobs with them.

Forbes’ list is based on Moody’s Analytics’ take on prospective job growth. In 2013, Austin topped the list with an expected 4-percent increase in jobs. In 2014, Austin tied with Naples according to Moody’s.
