SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) – A San Marcos teen missing since early Monday has been found “safe and sound,” according to city officials. Police have not said what happened to Cassidy Jae Castro, but they are interviewing an 18-year-old man who was with the girl when she was found.
No further details were made available.
Police are concerned about the possibility of foul play in the the disappearance of a 15-year-old San Marcos girl.
Cassidy Jae Castro was last seen around 3:45 a.m. Monday in the 100 block of Autumn Cove in San Marcos. Cassidy is described as 5 feet, 3 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes, and 115 pounds.
Investigators tell KXAN she last spoke with her parents around 3 a.m. Monday.
Cassidy was using Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter before her disappearance.
A cousin tells police Cassidy used Snapchat to ask to be picked up around 2:30 a.m. She said someone was coming to get her. Then, her last contact with friends happened about 4:30 a.m. Monday.
“It is uncharacteristic of Castro to have left under these circumstances and for her not to contact family or friends,” to Police Criminal Investigations Commander Kelly Earnest said. “She did not have a cell phone with her and her family and friends have been on social media searching for her.”
