Avoid the heat with free Austin events

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Another work week is underway, but there is plenty to do around Austin that won’t cost you a dime.

Free fun in Austin sent KXAN some tips for you.

Sound and Cinema

The classic film E.T. will play at the Long Center on Tuesday.  The flick was rescheduled from last week because of the rain. You can catch the movie on the Alamo Draft House’s giant inflatable screen. The movie starts after dark.

Rhythm on Stage

If you want to work on your dancing skills head inside the Long Center on Tuesday.  It’s the last of the free West African dance lessons starting at 7 p.m.

Children’s Day Art Park

Beto y Los Fairlanes will be at Symphony Square Wednesday at 9 a.m. Bring out the kids and enjoy live music and fun.

Zilker Zumbathon Zelebration

Bust a move on Thursday at the Zilker Park rugby field. All ages are welcome for the Zumba class that starts at 10 a.m.

Nature Night

Birds of Prey is the theme for the final Nature Night.  Bring the family out for a live bird presentation at the Lady Bird Wildflower Center at 5 p.m.
