New book: UT offered Saban $100 million

(NBC SPORTS) – The Nick Saban to Texas story line continues.

According to NBC Sports there is a new book coming out written by national radio host Paul Finebaum and ESPN’s Gene Wojchiechowski and in it there is a report that Texas was prepared to offer Saban a $15 million dollar signing bonus and a $100 million dollar salary package.

The book is called “My Conference Can beat Your Conference” and in one excerpt it says “Texas was dead serious about trying to money-whip Saban.”

Saban got a new deal at Alabama paying him nearly $7 million a year and Charlie Strong was hired as the new coach for the University of Texas at Austin.
