BERLIN (NBC/RTV) — Big crowds gathered in Berlin Tuesday to welcome their World Cup heroes home.

The German men’s soccer team made quite a dramatic entrance.

The plane they were in did a flyover over the fan zone, where tens of thousands of fans were waiting for their heroes to arrive.

They had a while to wait, as the team got off the plane and then was carried by bus through thrilled crowds before they finally made it on stage.

Germany’s last-minute extra time goal put the World Cup in its hands for the first time since 1990.

It’s the fourth time Germany has claimed the World Cup.
