MetroRapid testing new routes throughout Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Capital Metro is looking to add a new route to the MetroRapid bus.

Drivers will be testing the new buses Tuesday on a 15-mile stretch of Austin on North Burnet Road and South Lamar Boulevard, and also from The Domain to Westgate Mall through the University of Texas and Downtown Austin.

MetroRapid operators will be testing detour scenarios, transit priority lanes, communications systems and transit signal technology.
