Police looking for driver who hit a man on S. Congress Avenue

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Police are looking for a driver who hit a man walking on South Congress Avenue, just north of Ben White Boulevard, on Thursday night.

The crash happened just after 9 p.m.

Austin-Travis County EMS said they took a man in his 50s to University Medical Center Brackenridge with possible life-threatening injuries.

Initial information indicates the driver was in a champagne-colored SUV.

South Congress Avenue is blocked while police investigate the crash.
