Montopolis Bridge area reopens to traffic

UPDATE (10:45 a.m.): Police say the woman safely came off of the bridge. She is being evaluated by Austin-Travis County EMS, and all roadways have reopened in the area.

AUSTIN (KXAN) —  Police are warning people to stay away from the area around Montopolis Bridge as they respond to a woman threatening to jump from it, above Levander Loop.

The call came in to police at 9:46 a.m. about the situation in the 100 block of Airport Boulevard at Levander Loop.

Police have shut down Airport Boulevard heading south over Levander Loop, which is also the Montopolis Bridge. Levander Loop is also closed on both sides.

Access to Seventh and Cesar Chavez streets is closed from Levander Loop, and the Ed Bluestein Boulevard service road ramp to the bridge heading south has been closed as well.
