SALEM, Ore. (CNN/KOIN) — Humpty Dumpty really did fall off a wall and break into pieces!

This sculpture was one of the most recognizable exhibits at the Enchanted Forest in Salem, Ore.

But over the weekend, two visitors tried to climb the wall to take a picture with Humpty.

And you can see what happened: Humpty Dumpty took a great fall.

The park’s creator artist Roger Tofte created the cement sculpture, which had been there since the forest opened in 1971.

Now 84 years old, Tofte says he’ll try and put Humpty back together again.

“It’s going to take a few hours to start from scratch again and try and duplicate what I had. That’s the problem,” said Tofte. “It’s going to be, to make it like it was before, and I’m 84 — so I hope I still have some creative juices left.”

The two men who knocked Humpty off the wall have offered to pay to fix it. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
