PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) — After its big Fourth of July fireworks show this weekend, the City of Pflugerville is looking into expanding the park surrounding its lake.

The $14.5 million plans include a widening of the bridge over the hill and bike trail, an upgraded parking lot, and possible stages on the north and south sides of the park.

“I think it’s a really good investment,” said Pflugerville neighbor Jeremy Ellingston. “People are out here all the time, so it’s really good to have some money put into this, versus other things that might not get used around city parks around town because the lake is growing up a lot.”

The City built the existing park in 2009, and it currently includes a few pavilions and a boat launch. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
