AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 21-year-old man fell to his death early Saturday after his motorcycle crashed along a South Austin overpass.

Police identified the rider as Christopher Ray Saucedo on Monday.

Saucedo was riding along the westbound ramp from northbound Interstate 35 to Ben White Boulevard, about 1:15 a.m., when his bike hit a concrete barrier on the north side of the ramp. Saucedo then fell into northbound lanes of I-35.

He died at the scene.

The case is still being investigated and anyone with information is asked to call the Austin Police Department vehicular homicide unit at 512-974-4424.

This was Austin’s 27th deadly traffic crash and the 34th fatality of 2014. At this time in 2013, there were 42 fatality crashes and 43 deaths.

In a similar incident on June 27, 52-year-old Rae Rippetoe-Blair died after her motorcycle crashed on the northbound ramp from MoPac to northbound U.S. Highway 183. She lost control of her bike and crashed before falling from the flyover.
