LAKE TRAVIS (KXAN)– The last public boat ramp on Lake Travis has closed just as a holiday weekend approaches.
The new Tournament Point boat ramp at Pace Bend Park was designed for low lake levels and opened in early June 2014. As long as Lake Travis water levels stayed above 630 feet above mean sea level, the ramp could remain open. Monday, the lake dropped below that threshold and Travis County Parks closed the ramp.
“Maybe a week and a half, we were able to use the boat ramp and it’s a fantastic ramp,” said Sean Vancleve with B & S Dock Service. “They did a nice job with it. But, unfortunately it’s out again and we won’t see it again until we get a flood.”

Public boat ramps are closed on Lake Buchanan because of low lake levels. There are open ramps on Lake Marble Falls, Inks Lake, Lake LBJ and Lake Austin.
