NEW JERSEY (NBC/New Jersey Dept. Of Environmental Protection) — A bear cub is recovering in New Jersey Wednesday morning, after falling victim to temptation and getting into all kinds of trouble.
Somebody in Ringwood, N.J., put a cookie jar in the trash last Friday.
The cub just couldn’t resist and got its head stuck in the jar.
Then, it got stuck about 40 feet up a tree — with the jar still on its head.
After tranquilizing the bear, rescuers brought it down and carefully cut off the jar.
The bear is now in the care of a wildlife rehabilitator.
