Leander subdivision celebrates growth with giant Tiramisu

LEANDER, Texas (KXAN) — One of the fastest growing parts of Central Texas celebrated their growth with an Italian treat Sunday.

Travisso, a subdivision in Leander, brought out a Texas-shaped giant Tiramisu to bring in home buyers.

Leander has grown a lot in the last few years, more than doubling in size since 2000.

This new subdivision will include almost 3,000 homes.

“Every time I look at Austin, there’s got to be a point where these areas are all gone and, you know, you see something you like… you kind of have to go grab it because the area is growing so fast,” said Micah Thompson, a potential home buyer.

Officials say one of the big draws to Leander are tech jobs in the area with companies like Dell and Google.
