AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Department of Transportation is making some big changes when it comes to customer billing.
The agency says people who drive on toll roads and have a TxTag will now get just one streamlined bill.
Drivers can now sign up for text messages notifying them when the money in their account runs low, and you will be able to chat with customer service representatives on the TxDOT website.
“We listened to our customers. They told us what they wanted,” said Veronica Beyer. “The new benefits that we’re rolling out with the TxTag system is exactly what they’ve asked for.”
As the agency rolls out these changes, it’s Customer Service Center, including its call center, will be closed between July 4-8. However, tolls will still be incurred over that period for drivers using the roadways.
