Texas man dies in East Arkansas interstate wreck

PALESTINE, Ark. (AP) — Authorities say a Texas man was killed when his car crashed into a tractor-trailer that had stopped for traffic in a construction zone on Interstate 40 in eastern Arkansas.

Arkansas State Police say the wreck happened Wednesday afternoon near Palestine. According to a preliminary report, 83-year-old Dale Bryan of Whitney, Texas, was a passenger in a car that collided with a semi.

State police say Bryan’s car failed to stop and crashed into the truck. Bryan was killed, and the driver of his car, 82-year-old Anna Bryan of Whitney, Texas, was injured.

The driver of the tractor-trailer wasn’t injured in the collision.
