San Antonio base gets expanded cybersecurity role

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A San Antonio military installation and affiliated agencies will add more than 1,100 personnel as part of increased cybersecurity duty.

Congressmen Henry Cuellar and Pete Gallego on Wednesday announced expansion of the cybersecurity mission at Joint Base San Antonio.

Cuellar says the additional personnel will include military and civilians. Some National Security Agency workers in San Antonio are also part of the project.

Gallego says cybersecurity is one of the biggest national security priorities. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
