Train speeds toward Texas officer saving woman on tracks

RICHMOND, Texas (CNN/KPRC) — New dashcam video shows a Texas police officer responding to a report of a woman lying on railroad tracks — with a train speeding toward her.

Take a look at what happened next.

Officer Ramon Morales arrived at the railroad crossing in Richmond around 1 a.m. Sunday.

As soon as he pulls up, the lights start flashing, and the train crossing arms lower.

Look at the left side of the video. Morales runs onto the tracks, and you can hear the train rumbling toward them and blowing its whistle.

He pulls the woman out of the way and into the lights from his car. He then holds the crying woman so she can’t run back at the train now whizzing past.

Neither were hurt.

The woman was taken to a hospital for an assessment.

Meanwhile, police say Morales has only been with the department for about 10 months. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
