AUSTIN (KXAN) — All but two of Austin’s pools should be open on Sunday, the parks and recreation department said on Friday.

A lifeguard shortage kept many of the city’s pools from opening on time.

City officials say Govalle, Parque Zaragosa, West Austin, Kennemer and Gillis pools should be open for business on Sunday, June 22.

Only the Montopolis Neighborhood Pool and Little Stacy Pool are expected to remain closed. Both of those pools are undergoing maintenance work.
